Geothermal System – Installation

·       The geothermal ground collector or borehole collector can be installed at any stage of the build.  This is usually determined by either the weather, the build schedule or customer preference.

·       The timing is established at the system design stage and installation usually takes between one and two days.

·       Ground/Borehole collectors are sized according to

-          the heat load requirements of the building

-          the ground conditions of the particular site

·       As each project has individual requirements, it is important to pre-plan the installation of the system and electrical first fix – to avoid complication.

·       The heat pump and the under floor system controls are usually the last components to be installed – when the building is nearing completion.

·       After completion, the heat pump is commissioned and tested.  Then the customer is provided with instructions on the system operation.
